This is the first major retrospective dedicated to Roy Lichtenstein for over 20 years. This New Yorker is recognized as one of the leading exponents of the Pop art in the world for his work done from comics and advertising images. And one of the artists we put more (reproductions) in home decorations.
Behind the Art Institute of Chicago, the Washington National Gallery and the Tate Modern London, the Pompidou Center in Paris has started a retrospective exhibition, which notice will not come to Spain, so if you are going to go through Paris this summer, it is a sample that should not be missed.
The sample is made up of 130 paintings and sculptures, in addition to 30 drawings and collages rarely seen cover all the creative periods of the New York artist: the work pre-pop expressionist, World War II cartoon pop painting, mirrors, brush strokes, explosions, studio paintings, reflections, nudes and Chinese landscapes.
Roy Lichtenstein is finally in Europe, until November 4, 2013 in the Paris Pompidou Center.
